Ok, first things first - ‘brand copywriter UK’, ‘brand copywriting agency’, ‘copywriting for brands’, ‘absolutely mint handsome copywriter’. There, that’s the SEO bit sorted.
Now to the crux. Most businesses and brands are not short of words. Website words, social words, purpose words. Helpful little words explaining the words above them. The problem isn’t volume - it’s value.
Everybody can write (especially with a chatbot side-chum) but maybe that’s the problem. While the world continues to spin full to the brim of hastily arranged sentences designed to fill arbitrary spaces, it has never been more important for a brand to choose the RIGHT words. And that’s what Sergeant Walnuts does best.
We’re a brand copywriting agency with more awards for words than anything else. We write campaign lines, telly ads, radio scripts and brand books for billion-dollar businesses. We write websites, manifestos, tone of voice and everything else that actually matters. Each comes with a different approach and a way of working, but all come with a whole lot of careful thinking before letters are etched onto a page (by a human).
Got something that needs writing? We’d love to read the brief.

The most expensive words will always be the ones nobody remembers. You can spend a great deal of time and money buying people’s attention, but it can be wasted in an instant with an AI-spewed sentence that smells like old robot.
As a copywriting agency, we believe writing should carry a human spirit to be properly effective. Perhaps that’s because we love words. We love that they can carry hope, convey love and crush reality in equal measure. We love that they are cruelly fickle and wonderfully subjective. We love the way they sound when they trip off the tongue. Bumpf, olio, jugular, strudel.
But loving words is not enough - you have to know what to do with them. A poster line has a second to land. A radio script has to paint pictures with its eyes closed. A brand book has to guide and inspire a business without becoming a very expensive sleep-aid.
That’s why we begin with the brand. What do you stand for? What can you say that nobody else can? What do people need to feel, understand or remember? When we’ve answered those questions, we choose the words.
And we truly believe that, with the right words, almost anything is possible.
Tell us what you’re after. We’ll tell you what we can do.
The Spin Doctor rebrand started with five words: Truth Brewed in Every Sip. From there, we created an entire parody newspaper of political spin, questionable reporting and very real beer. Headlines. Weather. Lonely hearts. Fake ads. We even won some awards for it.
A horse race can be won by a nose. So can a betting campaign. We crafted ‘Pick Your Nose’ to give Betfred one sharp, slightly daft, but standout line that could run with playful supporting copy across press, outdoor, radio, social, digital and retail for all the big race meets across the season.
Still Human (which we named) needed a tone of voice for teachers who were already being asked to do too much. Not wellness waffle or language that added homework to the homework. We gave the brand a warm, straightforward voice rooted in one useful thought: teachers are superheroes, but still human.
